Internet Explorer Issues and Changing to Firefox
Firefox is a modern, up to date and fully standards compliant browser. Internet Explorer, on the other hand is not those things.

This site can break in Internet Explorer, particularly when our server load is heavy. The cause of this failure is to do with Microsoft's own version of javascript which can result in stack overflow messages. If this happens to you then it is mostly strongly urged that you change to either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, both of which are fully standards compliant.

Go to this page for instructions on how to download and install Firefox. You do not have to select Firefox as your default browser. And you can choose to migrate bookmarks later. If you experience issues with migrating bookmarks, ask on BCUG for more help.

To export your IE Favorites to a file, ready for import into Firefox

-- Open Internet Explorer
-- Press the "Alt" key to show the IE menu toolbar, if the menu bar is hidden (File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help menu items).
-- In the IE menu bar, go to "File -> Import and Export..."
-- Follow the prompts to export your IE favorites to a file, which will be named "bookmark.htm" by default.
-- After you've finished exporting your IE Favorites to a file, use the Firefox Bookmarks Manager and import the file.

Note: Specific steps to export your IE Favorites to a file will depend on your IE version. Check Internet Explorer Help (from the IE Help menu).
