Geoff asked me if I would like to chose the POTW and after giving it some thought I have chosen this photograph by FujimanG.

I think it has good use of depth of field (dof), with the foreground being out of focus and using black and white as the format you get a nice illusion of the cat being well hidden amongst the undergrowth.
The lighting whilst not perfect, with some of the leaves being completely overexposed and spoiling the image (but can easily be editing post process), has lit-up the cats features and with the focus nice and sharp in this area makes the animal stand out.

Fujiman has added a little ‘oomph’ to this picture by using a selective colouring technique to give a hint of colour to the eyes making you wonder what is the cat so intently staring at, the final touch of pink to the nose completing the triangle and so for me this is the POTW for this week.

Yes, this site possibly is about marking and measuring progress a bit more than some others.

We should know too that things never look that easy; and that cunning, ingenuity and stuff is required every inch of the way forward.

But, congratulations Gerry for making all the extra efforts that do indeed count.
