AE help
Hi all,
I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if it is the cam. (KODAK Z990)
99.9% of my shots a red AE or shaking hand even when on tripod pops up on the lcd.
Photos look ok.
Any tips

RE: AE help
Usually a red shaking hand on the lcd display means that your anti vibration is switched off. Sometimes you will want it that way, too. For example, if you have the camera on the tripod.

Does that make sense? I reckon that perhaps Kodak have the cameras built that way.

RE: AE help
HI
yes i know what it means. But normally with Kodak I didn't have this problem. So I don't know if it is my fault or camera.
It has an inbuilt anti vibration and the manual doesn't state how to turn it on or is it auto? I will have to email them.
I am going on a day trip tomorrow so I hope I can solve this.
Thanks for your answer.
Cheers

RE: AE help
These sorts of issues with icons on screen and new cameras can appear very opaque.

For example I went out with my Nikon D90, when it was new. I found it wouldn't work for me and there was an icon on screen that I didn't recognise. I later learnt that was an sd card icon. And indeed I had no sd card in the camera. But it did fox me some!

You can never really expect to read camera manuals and understand them without some trial and error learning practice, too.

I hope not or at least not without some means of turning it off/on as you need/require it.

RE: AE help
after googling for a while it appears that you cannot turn of the auto stabilization. There are a few posts about it and people complaining.

My apologies however if somebody finds something else

RE: AE help
Yes, Lynz, I've got the same impression.

I've been looking at http://resources.kodak.com/support/shtml...c2s9.shtml

I've just been watching this video. He goes through quite a lot features. He mentions that it will produce RAW files.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMPY84MTHec

The RAW mode is developed in this part of Kodak's manual http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/...ected/true

I've also flicked trough these on line help pages

http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/...wiYyI6MTh9

There is a lot there; and I would guess that there is quite a bit of searching that could be done.
