RE: Light Trails
I like the quality of those images, Rod.
I have not really had hands on experience of this sort of shot. Did you use a tripod and a long exposure of say 30 to 40 seconds? Geoff Geoff |

RE: Light Trails
I much prefer the 2nd picture, I think this kind of shot works much better while there is still some light left in the sky to add a bit of added drama but well done

RE: Light Trails
Thanks, it was hand held but supported on the bridge railing, and it was 8 seconds, thats the maximum i can get from the P500.

RE: Light Trails
Yes, I find that having that little bit of light in the sky enhances the appeal of the shot some. So I'll make a mental note of that.

RE: Light Trails
Really like these Rod, particularly the second one.
I've always thought about trying the light trails but never got round to it, but having seen your efforts I am inspired to give it a try. I must find myself a good location. Spike |

RE: Light Trails
Rod, I've just been examining the composition of your second shot.
It seems to follow some of the guidelines on "balance" that are set out on this web page http://photoinf.com/General/KODAK/guidel...lance.html You see, I asked myself why is the composition so good. Your picture is also a visual metaphor of being on a journey; but then I guess all motorway light trails photos have that appeal to them. Geoff |
