RE: S200EXR
Breathtaking aren't they just. And it mustn't be forgotten that the typical bridge camera's smaller sensor and its ability to operate with a narrower diameter lens can be extremely advantageous. Foldable lcd screens can also be extremely handy. And I for my part hope I never intentionally conveyed that I was any sort of dslr addict.
We know that manual focus and a few other things can be harder to do. And I am very aware that bridge cameras require more polished camera skills to use than a dslr. I have had phases of just using my bridge camera because I want to prove to myself that I can; and I kind of wonder Frank whether you have those phases, too. I know all too well that it imposes hardship on you as a photographer to use a bridge camera. And I certainly had a boat load of frustrations with my earlier bridge cameras. Another problem that tends to happen is that as you get better you kind of get relieved so much from your earlier frustrations, that you kind of have a mental block on that phase of your work, I think. But any way there is some value to having this forum area set aside, as it is, so that some of the specific bridge camera aspects of usage can more clearly be discussed. If we examine the close up of the dragon fly that is astounding for its clarity. And I know that dslr buffs will say that you get more detail on the back of the bigger sensor area. I personally am not quite so sure. What's your view on that one, Frank? Geoff |
