RE: a couple of pics i like
They are both rather special pics, I would say.

Which software do you want to use?

Not sure Geoff. I have photoshop, picasa and gimp.

The shots aren't perfect I know that and they weren't taken as anything special, more of a "aw look , lets take a photo"

RE: a couple of pics i like
In my earlier tries at pp I was bedevilled by doubts... Hell I don't know what I an doing; Jeez, I just forgot to something important -- what will I do now?

So keep your starting point images very safe and be willing to come back and have more tries, later.

As you develop more confidence you will develop a flare for testing the look and feel of the finished image.

Part of the drawback of the stuff that I do for people is that my own individualistic paw prints are all over the work.

Sometimes I feel like the character Macavity the Cat. (Macavity also called the Mystery Cat, the Hidden Paw and Napoleon of Crime). Wink

Another interesting thing that happens is that your first effort will be maybe 20% improvement and a 55% improvement might be achievable in each of these shots.

If you were to use pixlr then any of us could go through the steps you used and suggest recommendations, too. (http://bridgecamerausers.co.uk/mybb/thread-2187.html) its online and none us needs to install it and we know we are all using exactly the same version!
