RE: My finepix HS20
I can't speak for others, of course; and they may not agree with me, either. But for me the journey has been a sort of spiritual quest.

Yes, of course, I would look at the quality work that others produced; and yet I wanted something that was the quintessential me. These days I can appreciate so much better the skills that others use and something of their personal jorneys involved in getting there. I know too that my own work has some particular characteristics. I guess I have started to bask in the contemplativeness of it all, just a little.

RE: My finepix HS20
Ive been browsing The HS20 Flickr Groups Pages and here is one page I zoomed in on http://www.flickr.com/groups/fujihs20exr...678494080/

This has more specific comment on the camera than we can ever manage on here. But equally a forum/ group like that will probably not be such a good general photography resource as this. Certainly also some our members have the specific knowledge, too.

One point raised in that discussion is the suggestion that EXR mode is complicated to understand

Quote:You find that the more you use any camera usually the better your results and the HS20 is no exception. In fact getting your head around EXR DR mode is the real problem as this is the mode where this camera really shines. Fuji should really have explained how to use EXR better instead of continually boasting about 'EXR auto' which only gets it right some of the time - and totally 'screws up' for the rest whilst 'eating' battery life..
But anyway, this post will show you that I've been doing some googling.

RE: My finepix HS20
Hi Geoff

I had a quick nose around Flickr, but I'll stick to BCUG, Flickr was ok but it didn't have the same feeling as BCUG.

The EXR Auto does everything for you at the flip if a button, as it sorts out shutter, apperture, lighting etc, the reason it uses batterie life on EXR Auto is it's constantly using all it's functions to get the right photograph, sooooo once you have taken your picture switch the mode to manual or switch the camera off .... Or or or you can even switch off the LCD screen and just use the view finder Smile

See I've been reading the manual, just got to get out there now and take some pics Smile
