The Nikon P500
http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/...97849.html
I've just been watching the above video. The camera has quite a lot of up to date features. The reviewer mentions the softness of the produced images, but that is perhaps where you routinely should add a touch of post processing sharpness. When you adjust the controls, a lot of details come up on screen; and that is a big plus over some other cameras... that should help you to learn about those controls. Getting image quality tweaked is always a challenge, because you need to get experience of how you could expect to tweak an image. This is where you will need to post up images and get opinions, until such time when you can confidently make creative judgements all on you own! Geoff |

This is a more in depth review and what a joy this guy is to listen to! He is more upbeat than the previous reviewer. And these review videos are excellent both as starting points for discussion and in terms of giving us others a clear picture of what the camera is about. I think also that newbie can watch these and pick on points that they haven't really explored yet Geoff |
