Dee estuary
    Took this picture looking across the river Dee estuary towards Wales with my Fuji finepixs S3400. Storm coming. Please comment.

Hi Peter,

It reminds me of the skies you find in Turner paintings. The exposure is proper, in my opinion, and neither too light or too dark. It obeys the rule of thirds composition twice; and the barbed wire fence helps in that respect.

The air seems to be moisture laden and that seems to be diffusing the light in interesting ways. So you have the shaft of light as a main focal point and also the interesting illumination of water surfaces.

I rate this to be a very good shot. Congratulations!

A very brooding shot, full of atmosphere. I also like the effects on the water.

Hi!! ether823, what lovely shot. The tide being out gives it atmosphere. You can actually see it raining, typical north west weather, I bet you went home after taking the shot LOL Big Grin .
